Welcome to
the Write…Edit…Publish June 2017 Challenge
Literally--

BRIDGES
This is one prompt that can take you
anywhere – just follow your imagination – maybe you’ll even come to a very
unique bridge during your journey. Is it guarded by trolls, or tolls? Does it
provide a journey to another dimension or complete understanding / truth!
Water under the bridge? Or maybe a setting, or an overture after a breach, or just the word
inserted somewhere into your writing/images.
Thoughts:
Literally--
Prisoners of war building a
bridge, thinking of loved ones, inspiration to survive...movies: Bridge over the River
Kwai, The Railwayman. Novels: The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan, the Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller...
Explorers building a bridge to an
unexplored site…
Engineers building a bridge that
collapses...
Metaphorically--
Building bridges after a feud
Water under the bridge--let bygones
be bygones

Still wrestling with life and a severe attack of the inadequacies. I don't think I can play but can (and will) come and applaud.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear Sue. You always applaud. I was looking forward to applauding you this time. Hope life is treating you gently. Enjoy winter! Here at last!!
DeleteSorry to hear, EC. Hope you feel better soon.
DeleteTruly, but totally understand. Take care EC!
DeleteAnother angle would be to burn bridges behind one...love that visual and the thought bridge! :)
ReplyDeleteI've burnt a few, don't always recommend it! :) Hi, Nila!
DeleteNope, quite agree, only recommended when the serial killer's at your heels :) Hi Yolanda! and wish you a good June.
DeleteI haven't participated for a bit but getting back into the need to write a story again. :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, a flash is the perfect beginning! Thrilled to have you on board!
DeleteThank You, YR.
DeleteThis sounds like a great one! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteWorking on mine now, took awhile to get there! Wouldn't be the same without you!
DeleteHmmm...this one has so many possibilities to it. To take it literally, figuratively, or some blending of the two concepts. Should be interesting to write. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteSo cool, hi Christopher, we've missed you!
DeleteHi Yolanda. I keep forgetting about the contests. Broke down and put them into my calendar so I don't miss any more. :)
DeleteWonderful!
DeleteAll done as I just gave it a run!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read this one! Hmm...
DeleteThe theme Bridges seems bottomless, but I'll continue with my story, the one I started in February.
ReplyDeleteBTW: a nice note on Brisbane time. I didn't see it before. Very neat.
Hi, Olga, we are definitely looking forward to the next installment!
DeleteInteresting theme! Mine might be a photo essay. Looking forward to all the entries. Thanks for hosting this fabulous blogfest!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of a photo essay!
DeleteChanged my mind. ☺ Trying some flash fiction, for a change. Yikes!
DeleteHi Everyone,
ReplyDeleteJust signed up. It is an engaging theme and I look forward to participating.
Shalom aleichem,
Pat
Hi, Pat:
DeleteThrilled that you're on board again!
Hi Yolanda - bridges is flooring me - but something will appear. Donna's earlier post was superb and here you've enumerated all sorts of ideas. It is an engaging theme ... so am not sure which direction I'll end up - somewhere no doubt ... signed up anyway - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteWhich direction you take Hilary I'm sure it'll be engaging!
DeleteSorry. On my phone. Autocorrect. I meant 'Whatever direction you take...'
DeleteI know what you mean, Hilary:
DeleteI had a hard time with this one too, but suddenly an idea hit, and I went with it! Love opening my mind to the universe! I know you'll have something brilliant!
HELLO LADIES! I have come out of my self imposed hibernation. Thanks to all of my wonderful blogger friends. There was such love given to me on my last IWSG post that it pushed to finally write something new. My first piece in MONTHS... I hope you all enjoy it. I can't wait to read all of yours....
ReplyDeleteMichael I'm so happy to see you here and to know the IWSG love fest helped drag you out of hibernation. It'll be wonderful to read something from you again. :-)
DeleteMichael, we are thrilled to see your name on the list. You always contribute something amazing, and I'm doubly glad that the WEP has inspired your return to writing!
DeleteI remembered to sign up beforehand this time!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, so happy to see you participating, wouldn't be the same without you!
DeleteHello writers!
ReplyDeleteMine's live now, posted early to coordinate with you Denise :)
Got it posted, thanks, Nila!
DeleteHi all. I am trying to link my post and not sure if it's working. So hope you can check if I am linked up ok. Thank You.
ReplyDeleteAll done Deborah!
DeleteThanks Denise. :)
DeleteI must apologize. I won't have a story this time due to migraine headaches. I'll try to visit everyone, but I can't even promise that.
ReplyDeleteNancy
N. R. Williams
Please feel better soon, your entry will be missed. Take care!
DeleteHere is my entry for BRIDGES. I hope you like it. http://rolandyeomans.blogspot.com/2017/06/brridgeswep-post.html
ReplyDeleteI've just posted. I look forward to reading the entries later or even tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWishing everyone who enters my very best. Wish I could jump in this round, but have to cheer from the sidelines.
ReplyDeleteLee, it's been lovely to see you doing the rounds. Your support is greatly appreciated. Hope you see your way clear next time, or the time after...:-)
DeleteJust a quick not that I hope at least three of you will see. I made a point to visit EVERYONE and leave a comment this entry, but there were three sites that would not accept my URL and therefor my comment. I apologize Olga Godiva, Deborah Drucker, and Toi Thomas. I loved your entries and really tried to comment. It may have been something I did, but I was able to comment everywhere else. It's a well known fact that 'blogger'hates me, but it seems to have spread to 'Wordpress' also.
ReplyDeleteHi FAE.
DeleteFirstly, thanks for trying to visit everyone. That's great. But it happens sometimes, unfortunately that comments don't take. Sometimes you have to look quite a way down under the post to find a place to comment, sometimes the comments have to be accessed from the top. But sometimes comments just aren't accepted.
Thanks for letting us know.
Denise :-)
Congratulations Deborah, Michael, Delorah, LG Keltner, J Lenni Dorner, and Olga Godim on excellent submissions. I enjoyed reading them.
