What an incredible
challenge. The entries were magnificent, stupendous, amazing, awesome, imaginative, superb, outstanding, and any other
descriptive adjective you can conjure for excellent. But dear entrants you’ve
made it damn near impossible to put only one at the top! Which we actually love, such superb writing! A pure
pleasure to read!
Kudos to Olga Godim, our
badge designer and Nilanjana Bose, our prompt guru! BACK OF THE DRAWER was inspired and inspiring, as evidenced
by the various tomes. . .
. . . a letter that leaves a
marriage in turmoil. . . . a notebook full of memories, a connection to someone
lost. . . . letters that revive a broken heart or detail the horrors of war. .
. . the secret to longevity or the entrance to another dimension. . . . the
inspiration for ghost stories or for the magic that saves lives or in some
cases destroys them. . . . a warning, or
the evidence that points to a murderer. Even dragons and elephants . . .
Such
imagination, and truly exceptional writing. Congratulations, all of you! But
there can only be one!

CONGRATULATIONS
TO ALL WINNERS
Those
who made the shortlist were
Thanks,
everyone, for an exciting introduction to a new year of fabulous WEP
Challenges.
Don’t
forget we hold them every other month now.
Our
next one is April
According
to the poem by Peace and Love by Ella Wheeler Wilcox
“Despair
and hope may meet within one heart.”
So, April - the month inspired by poetry.
It’s also the month of the A to Z challenge which takes our corner of the web
by storm. The WEP Challenge falls on the ‘P’ day, so here’s your opportunity to
fit into the ‘P’ category and participate in the A - Z and WEP at the same
time, if you so desire. If you're not participating
in the A - Z, go for it!
But just because April is poetry month, it
doesn’t mean you have to post poetry (do I hear a sigh of relief?) There are
any number of ways you might express Peace & Love --
. . . a love story, a call for world peace, a refugee story, the
possibilities are endless. . .
See you
then, but be sure to return for the
winner’s guest post!
We'd
love if you'd Tweet one of these:

Ditto, that Jen! Amazing stories!
ReplyDeleteAnd just so you know, we love it!
Congrats to the winners - Kalpanaa, Laura and Donna! A great way to start the WEP stories for 2017, IMO. I'm not doing the A to Z this year, so I'll be thinking of something for the April prompt. Thanks Denise, Yolanda, Nila, and Olga for all the work you do each time!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners. Well done, ladies.
ReplyDeleteAll the entries were stellar. I got kick out of reading them. Congrats to Kalpanaa and Laura, and thank you very much for the award. I am amazed and pleased.
ReplyDeleteI'm not doing A-Z either, never have. I will have a suitable P entry though :) The appropriate first line just popped into my head, lol. Lets see if I can make it fit the theme. Two months should be enough procrastination time.
Congratulations to Kalpanaa, Laura and Donna! ☺ Flattered to have made it onto the short list. Thanks again, Yolanda and Denise. My A to Z posts are already set and adding another would be too stressful, but I have something percolating for the June prompt.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all winners! WEP's off to a fantastic start! Amazing variety and excellence in the flashes. Enjoyed them all thoroughly. Looking forward to April now. I will be participating in both A-Z n WEP together - two favourite blogfests :) super sumptuous treat for the writing muscles :)
ReplyDeleteSee you in April here!

Congratulations to one and all - and I'll be back to read the entries again ... well done. I've done April's and yes you're right it's not poetry! Brilliant - and thanks Yolanda and Denise for setting this up for us ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI've been traveling and this is my first chance to drop by. Congratulations, winners and all participants. You were awesome! I read them twice at least.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see the enthusiasm for April. Can't wait myself.
Great start to 2017 WEP.
Denise
I loved Kalpanaa's entry, a worthy winner. Thanks for choosing me as runner up! Congratulations to Kalpanaa and Dolorah, too, and to everyone who entered - the stories were all fantastic!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all the winners! Kalpanaa really did have a magnificent tale of despair, betrayal and hope, all tucked inside a melancholy dresser.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing everyone in April!
Hello! A shout out to Kalpanaa for her winning story, to Laura as runner-up and to Dolorah for receiving the encouragement reward. Whoopee! Congratulations to all three of you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations also to all those who made the shortlist. The WEP contests are absolutely magnificent, and I consider this contest to be a huge big step in the literary world.
I look forward to April.
Many thanks to Yolanda, Denise and their team that make participating in this contest so rewarding.
Shalom aleichem,

Congratulations Kalpanaa and to Laura and Donna and to everyone who wrote - the stories are so diverse and the hard work that goes into every one of them is to be commended. A huge thank you to Yolanda and Denise and their helpers for all the background work that they do to make WEP the success it is. See you all in a couple of months!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all the winners, Kalpanaa, Laura, Dolorah and everyone who participated. I bearly made my entry this time around and was so happy to be in such good company. So many different stories that touch my heart and mind in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners. My personal favorite was Rolands. But, everyone who participated was a winner since they contributed. I hope my saying so doesn't make anyone feel less noticed.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners. You are an inspiration! Thank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
