SIGN UP FOR THE JULY CHALLENGE - A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS.

  1. I'm thinking of a fictional story using an old photograph of my mother and my eldest brother taken in the bush many years ago. What are you thinking of for inspiration?

  2. Sounds very interesting, Denise. Just signed up, will fall back on MW (which has a bit that fits the prompt) if I can't come up with fresh stuff. Would prefer to do a fresh one though. That goes without saying. Let's see.

  3. I'm still deciding between a couple of photos. I'm signing on Denise, but hubs has had a heart attack and is in the hospital. I'm hoping he will be better by the 23rd so I should be able to participate. I'll advise if not. But I'm going to try. I need to do something to distract myself from worry.

    1. Oh, D.G., so sorry to hear about hubs' heart attack. I hope he's okay and will pull through this none the worse. He comes first, so of course I'll understand if you can't contribute. Perhaps if you run out of time you can post your photo with an explanation for us?

Writing is a good way to distract yourself from worry...

    Dear Denise,

I'm signing up before finishing my post. I don't have any good ideas for fictional texts yet. So, we'll just have to see what I come up with. I'll return with a comment when my link is alive.

My thoughts and prayers to D.G. and her husband.

    Best wishes,
    Anna

  7. I posted my entry for the July Challenge, Denise, although it is short form. A low ebb o creativity this month.

  9. My apologies for being late. Long story. I'm working on it now and it should be done in an hour or two.

    Dear Denise,

My post is finally up. Sorry I'm so late.

I am also sorry that this is not an original piece of fiction. It's just a sketch of an idea that haunts me. But it's from a film

Your choice of theme is great. I am just not very creative at this time.

I've had two warring cats to take care of, who have finally decided to be friends as of yesterday.

And then the refrigerator-freezer died a week ago. I am getting a new one delivered tomorrow afternoon. It's been like camping in your own kitchen! And for being Sweden it's been hot. We're not used to sweating!

And as a cherry on top, my ex complains about me every time he sees me when I leave the children.

    I know I shouldn't complain, but...

    Best wishes,
    Anna

  12. Thanks for posting Anna. I see your difficulties. I never think of Sweden as hot! Bad time for the fridge to die. A shame your ex makes life so difficult for you. I hope that improves soon!

      Dear Sweet Denise,

Thanks for those kind words. My new fridge arrived yesterday. I bought a new dishwasher while I was at it. (I have been washing dishes by hand for a year and a half and I am sick of it!) My kitchen is starting to shape up nicely now. I'm feeling better already.

My ex-husband will never change. This will never improve. He threatens me that it will get worse. (When I get things in order here I am going to join one of those computer-dating things and try to meet a really nice man.)

Hope you are well and happy!

      Best wishes,
      Anna

      P.S.
I have added a link on my post to an article on Wikipedia about the Nanjing Massacre. I'm learning a little history as a bonus to this challenge.

  13. Sorry I didn't post anything this month! We didn't have any internet all last week, then I was away all week this week. I will definitely join in next month :)

  14. Funnily enough I wrote something for this, and then forgot to schedule it. Well, it is written, but I forgot to go back an edit so no wonder it is still in draft. I'll read the other submissions anyways.
