We usually post three times between bloghops–winners’ announcements, guest posts and up-coming bloghops. Submit your name to the InLinkz list to join us each challenge. WEP challenges are free, open to all. If your entry catches our eye, you will win a $10 Amazon Gift Card or a winners’ badge.

WEP…Write…Edit…Publish –PEACE and LOVE WINNERS for April 2017

What an wonderfully extending challenge. The entries were outstanding as always and quite varied due to the openness of the prompt.  However, this time it was easier to achieve consensus, as Yolanda and I came up with the same top three! That's progress! It usually takes several emails then a check around for other opinions.

Kudos to Olga Godim, our badge designer, and Nilanjana Bose, our prompt guru! PEACE and LOVE was inspiring.

THE WINNER OF THE
2017 WEP APRIL CHALLENGE
PEACE AND LOVE
is
TA DA TA DA TA DA
DOLORAH

GOING HOME – A wonderful flash which was not too whimsical, too serious or too abstract. Full of alliteration which Dolorah introduced from the first line: "Please pay the piper at the end of the pier." And the haunting bagpipes playing Going Home was a great way to intensify the reading experience. As one commenter said: 'dreamy...'
Congratulations Dolorah
Please, accept the winner’s badge and display on your blog with a link to your story.

An Amazon Gift Card of $10 will be winging your way shortly.

THE RUNNER UP OF THE
2017 WEP APRIL PEACE AND LOVE CHALLENGE
IS

ROLAND YEOMANS

Where can you find Peace was gripping, as Roland is wont to be. A timely post on the difficulty of achieving peace in our world today. For me, the touching scene of the grandmother holding her grandchild as they drowned had a huge impact.

Congratulations Roland!

THE ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD FOR THE
2017 WEP APRIL PEACE AND LOVE CHALLENGE GOES TO

Laura Clipson

PEACE AND LOVE – A powerful tale where the heroine sacrifices her life for her friends, a great flash. Makes us question ourselves--how far would we go to bring peace?

Congratulations, Laura. Please accept the badge and display it on your blog with a link to
PEACE AND LOVE.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WINNERS

Let's face it, you're all on our shortlist this time.
But we must give an honorable mention to Pat Garcia for her "The If of Peace and Love". Pat always makes us think deeply with her enchanting way with words. A thoughtful poem with a theme of the sacredness of respect amongst all creation.

And we must again acknowledge the poem Peace and Love by Ella Wheeler Wilcox
“Despair and hope may meet within one heart.”

Thanks, everyone, for joining us in April. We love each and every one of you. Can't wait for the next challenge in June, Bridges.
Water under the bridge? Or interpret this prompt as a setting, or as an overture after a breach, or just the word inserted somewhere into your writing/images.
Go to our Challenges Page above to read more on this prompt.

See you then, but be sure to return for the winner’s guest post!

  3. Really a shock and honor to have won. Thank you Ladies. Congrats to Roland too, such awesome imagery in his piece. The world can be such a dreary place, but even in the most dire circumstances, love triumphs. Roland has a gift for projecting the best and worst in humanity.

  12. Life is a harsh mistress of late so I am late. Hate that. Congrats to Donna and Laura! How did I sneak in the winners? Must be the doing of the ghost of Mark Twain, the scoundrel. What a nice thing to say of my writing, Donna. Both you and Laura did magnificent pieces.
