#WEP/IWSG December 2019 challenge - RIBBONS AND CANDLES. SIGN UP AND POST NOW!!!!

Now, the IWSG and the WEP team have been busy this past month.

The IWSG held a competition, open to all, for the best prompt to kick off 2019 in February. They graciously offered a prize. The WEP team chose an entry by Toinette Thomas, 28 DAYS. Part of her prize was a guest post in the IWSG's Newsletter.

There was also an in-house competition between the IWSG admin to come up with the best prompt for December 2019. The winner was Tyrean Martinson. The WEP team liked her suggestion, FOOTPRINTS.

All our  prompts and badges and blurbs for 2019 are found above in our Pages - Challenges 2019. We're all ready to go again for a fabulous year with a fabulous team of participants!

Now, let's get RIBBONS AND CANDLES underway! Please post as soon as you possibly can!

  1. Sorry. I have been burning the candle at both ends (and the middle) and my sanity hangs in frayed ribbons. February. Hopefully.

  2. This should be a diverse challenge theme, I thinking. Also you may want to update the banner/picture for this challenge. Signup and post dates are the same.

    1. They're the same this time because we want people to feel free to post as soon as they'd like this time around. Since Christmas comes so soon after the original post date (December 19th), it'll give people more time to read and not feel overwhelmed so close to the holiday.

    2. I see, I was really confused from that. Felt like I missed something, I didn't know I was missing.

  3. I was gonna sign up, but I'm not sure how to do it. The linky thing looks different than usual. (?)

Also, I've already written my entry, but planned to post it on the 19th. Now I see you're indicating it's okay to post anytime after the first. Isn't it going to be confusing as heck if everybody's posting on a different day??? Seems like it would work best if there were one set day for everyone to post, so we'd all know exactly when to visit the other blogs...

    1. The linky will go live soon, so don't despair! We set it up this time around so people won't be overwhelmed with having to read so many entries that close to Christmas. That being said, posting and reading on the original posting day is perfectly fine. No pressure! It'll be back to the old way for February.

    2. Hi Susan! We always have people posting on different days. Makes for easier reading. We decided if we could get some peeps to go early it takes the pressure off Christmas!

    3. Woo HOO! Success. (I thought I was just stupid for not being able to figure out how to sign up earlier...) Makes sense to spread out the entries, especially this time of year, but too bad there wasn't a way for each of us to indicate what date we're planning to post to make things a little simpler.

    4. Ah there are so many ways we have that covered, Susan...Blogroll, C-Box, comments, emails...thanks for your concern, but we manage. :-)

  4. Hi Denise. It looks like the LInky is set to open on a different 1 am timezone. I've brought mine forward a week, to the 12th (UK zone) http://jemimapett.com/blog/2018/12/12/wep-ribbons-candles-christmas-flashfiction/

And as you see, I've fixed the problem with comments :D

  11. This looks great, I wish I'd seen the competition sooner but there isn't enough time. I want to publish a book and my blog is the perfect platform to market it and with you guys reminding me, i can make it so but theres always a but.... why is that?

    5. Ok, so I think I know what the problem is. The comment section on my blog almost looks like a new post, but it's not. Once you get all the way to the end of the post, there's a break (dark blue) then a new section for the comments. You should see a box all the way at the bottom that says, "What are your thought?" Hope that helps. In any case, I'm glad to know you enjoyed it. I'm slow making my rounds, but I'll get to everyone in time. :D
