Thank you so much, Sue!

  2. Hey guys, just a heads up. The link id in the second code is for the old antique vase challenge. It should match the one above it- 824227 for the Urban Nightmare challenge. I look forward to seeing what everyone has to share.

    1. Thanks Toi. Yep. It happened when I did mine but I haven’t had a chance to change it. The first one works.

    2. Hi again Toi. Finally got time to fix it! Both scripts are now correct!

  3. So many great stories so far!
I can't get Sally's link to open though

    1. Thanks, Jemi!
I just fixed that. Happy commenting!

  4. I could access Sally's post either.
Also, I was unable to leave a comment on Kalpana's post. Here's what I wanted to leave...
"Great snippet, definitely makes you want to read more. Your descriptions are spot on and your characters feel real.
I think I did see, near the beginning, where Kurry was also spelled, Curry. Also, I think there is a missing comma in the 5th paragraph from the top, but I'm not very good with commas myself, so maybe not.
    Great entry."

    1. Sally's should work now, and I was able to leave a comment on Kalpana's post. I let her know you left your comment on here. My apology for first listing Pat. Sometimes efficiency is fraught with mistakes.

    2. HTTP ERROR 405 for Kalpana's post for me as well I'm afraid. Here's what I tried to say:

Very interesting! That's scary to think of the rideshare companies (Uber, Pink Cab, Lyft, etc) with drivers who hopefully have masks and have to hope passengers wear them too. Yikes. Life shouldn't have to be gambled for a paycheck and medicine, but here we are.

Good story. And yup, you made me want the ending you mentioned beforehand.

    3. Thanks J Lenni - I've posted your comment under your name.

  5. I'm not sure if my comment on Pat Garcia's blog went to a moderation queue or if they were eaten by an overly aggressive Spam filter. I was glad for the happy ending for the ladies in the story.

  7. I couldn't post to Kalpana's blog, either. Here's my comment:
Nice job creating an atmosphere, and the characters are intriguing. There are a few minor glitches--like Kurry sipping her smoothies (plural), but I'm much more interested in knowing what Rani is up to!

Also: couldn't agree more with the last sentence :D

  8. Carole Stolz's site demands I login in order to comment. I opted not to login as I don't know what that login entails or where it would lead me. So I'm posting my comment here:

Poor, poor girl. I want to hope she'll find a way out somehow, but my experience tells me otherwise.

  9. Apologies for not adding DL to my name. Can I do that in retrospect somehow? I'm slowly commenting - warning: I write my immediate reactions down as I read so the comments get somewhat wordy......................

    1. Thanks for your great reading/commenting Roland. I could change your DL for you, but I think everyone knows now that once posted, your entry's up. You're not the only one who forgot!

    2. I changed it and a few more, but I've gotta run now!

    3. I forgot too. Roland's comments are A class :)

    4. My teachers at college never gave me an A - at last. Thanks, Kalpana.

    5. Finally, I've read and commented on all 29 intriguing entries. Now, to revisit and check if all my comments got posted. Well crafted everyone.

    6. All my comments are up - except on Cie at Netherworld, which has now failed twice. So, I've added it below. Well done everyone. I was wary of the theme as I'm trying not to let stress over Covid-19 trigger my disease. But all your pieces proved inspiring instead - many thanks.

  10. I am not on FB so cannot comment on Carole's story - which was Nasty and heartrending.
And sadly true for too many.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I could not comment on Carole's blog either, but hers was a thought-provoking piece. People like to think that prostitution is a "victimless crime" and pornography is just good, sexy fun. Porn Hub has been called out recently for allowing videos of underage girls being molested, and when these girls ask them to remove the videos, they won't. I support the Nordic Model, where the prostitutes are not punished but those attempting to buy sex can be jailed. Places where prostitution has been decriminalized actually tend to see an upswing in abusive behavior towards prostitutes.

  12. I'm not sure if my comment on Donna Hanton's blog went to a moderation queue or if it was eaten by cyber-goblins. I enjoyed her story. That vase certainly seems to have some bad ju-ju on it. Pierce caused quite a commotion after exposure to the thing.

  13. Unless someone slides an entry in under the wire, I have commented (or tried to) on all the entries.

    2. Yes Shannon - there's invariably a problem with comments on my blog when its a linky party. Inlinkz pats me to wordpress and so on. I'm so tired of it. Wish I didn't have a self hosted blog.

  17. Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. I've been so busy lately that I've felt too tired to write, so I'm afraid I haven't got my entry ready in time. I feel a bit down about it as I did have an idea for this theme, but perhaps I'll use it another time. I'll still try to read through all the entries as I wouldn't want to miss out on your wonderful words.

  22. My comment to Cie at Netherworld glitched even on my 2nd attempt, so I'm posting it here instead:

"Great world-building, Cie - vivid. Definitely an urban nightmare, and one that has to end. Looking forward to reading more, as I enjoyed this."

    1. Cie uses comment moderation Roland, so there may be no glitch. Her health sometimes means she steps away from the blogosphere for a while, but I am sure she will return and release your comment(s).

    2. Okay, Sue. I wondered if that was the case but feared it was an internet problem as it's happened elsewhere. Wordpress-Blogger mismatch glitch.
