UP-COMING CHALLENGES 2014

July – A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS

A picture is worth a thousand words. Choose a favourite picture and use it as a prompt. You may respond in fiction, non-fiction or poetry – be as creative as you like!
If you don’t have a picture you wish to use, you may choose the WEP-provided picture.
  1. The adage "A picture is worth a thousand words" refers to the notion that a complex idea can be conveyed with just a single still image. It also aptly characterizes one of the main goals of visualization, namely making it possible to absorb large amounts of data quickly.

August – TAKING CHANCES

Begin or end your story with these words…’There was once a chance I didn’t take.’ If posting photos, let the photos tell the story.

September – CHANGING FACES

You wake up, look in the bathroom mirror, and a different face looks back at you.

October – GHOST STORY

October is all about Halloween, where our thoughts turn to hauntings and other supernatural events. Did I ever tell you this ghost story?

November – AFFLUENZA

The holiday season brings thoughts of commercialism – gift-buying frenzy, house renovations and decorations. Will you go too far? Will  you take an expensive trip?

December – I DESERVE A HOLIDAY

How will you spend December? Is it work as usual? Will you spend time with family? Will you mend ties with family you rarely see?

  1. Looking good, Denise, but what's up with the February prompt? Will this be an ongoing list of prompts? btw - I like some of those new challenge prompts.

    1. Sheesh, I used prompt three times in one sentence. I have this problem with repetition. . .esp. early in my morning.
